This is a list of notable punk rock bands who have been referred to or have had their music described as Oi!. Some of the bands are more definitely Oi! bands but close familiarity with the music can be required to perceive the differences, but they are significant. Being included on an Oi! album or compilation done by music journalist Gary Bushell is a factor:
Later American punk bands such as Rancid and Dropkick Murphys have credited Oi! as a source of inspiration. In the mid-1990s, there was a revival of interest in Oi! music in the UK, leading to older Oi! bands receiving more recognition. [citation needed] In the 2000s, many of the original UK Oi! bands reunited to perform and/or record.

Oi! Oi! Oi!" was the title of the third track on their second album. The word is an old Cockney expression, meaning "hey" or "hello". Other bands that were labelled as Oi! bands in the early days of the genre included Angelic Upstarts, The 4-Skins, The Business, Blitz, The Blood, and Combat 84.
Top 12 Oi LP records. No "greatest hits" or compilation records and only one record per band, which made things tough. Lots of great Oi LPs didn't make the list, I might have to make it top 20.
Got any recommendations on American Oi bands? Most of my friends don't listen to Oi or punk rock in general, so I'm just a loner skin finding shit where I can. I've been listening to the Bruisers, Anti-Heros and Templars for a long while, so those are known to just about anybody.
* Racist Oi!/RAC: The oldest genre of hate music is derived from Oi!, an offshoot of punk music that originated in the 1970s and became heavily associated with the emerging skinhead subculture. In the wake of Skrewdriver, some racist Oi! bands emerged, sometimes calling their music RAC (Rock Against Communism).
Punk owes a lot to the Oi albums and record companies like No Future because they've helped keep the sound alive. The Oi albums have brought a lot of great bands into the open, and given unknown bands a chance to make a name for themselves. "People on the street need punk and Oi because they're sick of listening to disco shit.
