Dubbed the largest street race in the country, come see race cars reach speeds of up to 200 miles per hour while zipping through the streets of Downtown Long Beach. The Grand Prix of Long Beach is the largest event in the city drawing in a crowd of around 170,000 spectators.
The race course is considered to be challenging and technical. Shaped like a slightly bent "paperclip", the 1.3 mile course features two long straight-aways, two sweeping 180° turns, and 50' of climbing per lap. You can expect a headwind on the far side so breakaways are rarely successful.
