    Chilly and changeable All parts of the UK have showers or longer spells of rain through the first few days. At times, sleet or snow could fall to low levels in the north and over high ground in the south. Later on it begins to turn drier, particularly in the east. Daytime temperatures edge upwards, but the risk of frost remains.

    Becoming more changeable A good deal of dry weather is likely early on, with chilly nights but relatively mild days. However, a transition to a more changeable pattern is expected and it leads to an increasing risk of showers or longer spells of rain in all regions.
