It is derived from ambient music and is associated with lounge music, easy listening, and elevator music. [3]
It became known internationally for issuing popular compilations of lounge, chill-out music and world music, also under the Buddha Bar brand, released by George V Records. Buddha Bar began issuing compilations in 1999, and has since "made a name for itself with its Zen lounge music CDs and remains a hit – especially with tourists".
To commemorate ten years since the release of the first Now That's What I Call Music! album, from June to August in 1993, a series of ten, 40-track yearly collections were released on CD and cassette (but not vinyl), covering the years 1983 to 1992. The 1993 volume was not originally part of the ten-year anniversary series.
Attila is the only album by the psychedelic rock duo Attila, which featured a young Billy Joel. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called it "the worst album released in the history of rock & roll—hell, the history of recorded music itself." Joel himself has described it as "psychedelic bullshit".

The venue opened in June 2005 as a semi-permanent venue, becoming a permanent venue in 2014. Its capacity is now 9,500 fans.
