Lynne Ann Cheney (/ ˈ tʃ eɪ n i / CHAY-nee; née Vincent; born August 14, 1941) is an American author, scholar, and former talk show host. She is married to the 46th vice president of the United States , Dick Cheney , and served as the second lady of the United States from 2001 to 2009.
Cheney is known for her vocal opposition to former President Donald Trump. As of March 2023, she is a professor of practice at the University of Virginia Center for Politics. Cheney is the elder daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney and second lady Lynne Cheney.
