Mátyás György Seiber (Hungarian: [ˈmaːcaːʃ ˈʃɛibɛr], sometimes given as Matthis Seyber; 4 May 1905 – 24 September 1960) was a Hungarian-born British composer who lived and worked in the United Kingdom from 1935 onwards.

He learned instruments from an early age, and from the age of 14 he attended the Ferenc Liszt Consevatory where he studied Cello with Adolf Schiffer and studied composition with Zoltán Kodály.
