Magdalene College (/ ˈ m ɔː d l ɪ n / MAWD-lin) is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college was founded in 1428 as a Benedictine hostel, in time coming to be known as Buckingham College, before being refounded in 1542 as the College of St Mary Magdalene.

About. The College of St Mary Magdalene is located in the centre of Cambridge beside the River Cam. The College has its origins in the year 1428 and has an eclectic mix of buildings. There has been a continuous tradition of academic study on the site for nearly 600 years,
Magdalene College has the advantage of an attractive and convenient location on the banks of the River Cam, with the longest waterfront of all the Cambridge Colleges, and less than 5 minutes’ walk from the city centre. With an intake of around 105 new undergraduates each year it is possible to get to know all your fellow students!
Magdalene College admits students to study all academic degree subjects offered at Cambridge. There are over 30 undergraduate courses at Cambridge. Courses at Cambridge cover over 65 subject areas allowing students to specialise their interests and direction of study.
