May 17, 2020 · I installed Movie Studio 17 Platinum Suite, and it worked fine for a few days. Now it will not render video of any format. I keep getting an error message that says an error occurred while creating the media file [name.mp4] A stream could not be read.

I have updated my graphics card software/firmware and whatever needed to be updated in the intel downloads, but I still keep having the same issues.
Jun 30, 2020 · Go to Options/Preferences/Video - GPU Acceleration If you have a GPU turned on, turn it off and re-boot Vegas, then try another render. Re-installing Vegas rarely fixes anything. It is better to do a full program reset instead of re-installing, because only a reset will clean the temporary files cache. Reset instructions here:

Sometimes you may be working with mixed video frame sizes and frame rates, in which case you can't match everything perfectly in the Project Properties. However, where you can, always try to match all your media as best as possible.
Important! Working with Variable Frame Rate video from mobile devices
If you are using video that was recorded with a Android phone, Android tablet, Apple iPhone or Apple iPad, it has probably been recorded using a Variable Frame Rate. Variable frame rate videos do not work properly in video editing programs like Vegas Pro, which means you will need to convert it into a Constant Frame Rate video before importing into Vegas Pro. If you select a template with no (bracketed) options, Vegas will use your CPU to render the project. CPU rendering is normally the best option if you require the highest video quality possible.
Nvidia graphics
If you select one of the NVIDIA NVENC options, the rendering will be done by your Nvidia graphics card. Sep 24, 2020 · Part of why I upgraded to 17 is so I could use the RTX card to enhance encoding/decoding and to be able to render HEVC video with NVENC acceleration. Most of the time, rendering fails immediately, rendering between 0 and 5 frames before the program completely freezes and has to be killed with the Task Manager.
