Oct 18, 2019 · Before the age of cars and the subway, Flushing Main Street was accessible from other parts of New York City through a horse-pulled trolley. In 1896, New York & Queens County Railway operated an on-street electric trolley system that served as mass transportation along Main Street. It connected College Point to Jamaica (Seyfried, 1950).
