May 23, 2018 · While the Kampar River might not be the best natural attraction for a casual stroll, it is among Malaysia’s thrill-seeking centres. Located approximately 24 kilometres (14.9 miles) south of Ipoh, tourists can spend the morning or afternoon on the river. Kampar meanders through lush jungle and consists of 14 rapids between Class I and Class III.
I could only trace the course up to Klang Gates Dam, beyond which Google Maps is not sufficiently accurate to pinpoint the source of the river. Being able to view the entire course of the Klang River, I get a better understanding of how the river flows through the Klang Valley on its way to the Straits of Malacca (or, to be precise, Klang Straits).
