Located right opposite the Reading rail station, Malmaison is a hotel with a comfortable, if small, lounge. Not too many seats, but there are a few high tables you can lean on. I haven't tried the hotel, but I visited the bar for an after work drink with a friend. Much quieter crowd, compared to the Three Guineas across the way.
