Feb 11, 2021 · For a less experienced fudge maker like myself, Mamie’s recipe is a complete relief: You’re rewarded with tasty fudge without all the stress. Simply melt, mix, pour, and cool! It couldn’t be easier.
Boil the sugar, salt, butter, evaporated milk together for six minutes. Put chocolate bits and German chocolate, marshmallow cream and nutmeats in a bowl. Pour the boiling syrup over the ingredients. Beat until chocolate is all melted, then pour in pan. Let stand a few hours before cutting.

If you like your fudge super sweet then stick to the original, but the reduced sugar version is more in keeping with modern palates I think. The flavor comes through as something between dark and milk chocolate- perfect for all occasions!
