Marcel Moore (born Suzanne Alberte Malherbe, 19 July 1892 – 19 February 1972) was a French illustrator, designer, and photographer. She, along with her romantic and creative partner Claude Cahun, was a surrealist writer and photographer.

Oct 6, 2022 · After the deaths of antifascist Surrealist artist pair Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore in 1954 and 1972, respectively, their artwork and writings fell into obscurity until the 1980s when art historian François Leperlier unearthed the parts of their oeuvre spared from Nazi hands.
The Jersey Heritage collection represents the largest repository of the artistic work of Cahun, who moved to Jersey in 1937 with stepsister and lover Marcel Moore, was imprisoned for resistance activities during the Occupation, and remained here after the war until her death in 1954.
The images they made mostly depict Cahun, and sometimes Moore, in a variety of masculine, androgynous, and feminine personas set in minimally staged scenes in their home.
