At the age of 30, composer Marco Beltrami was the composer on a little film by horror master Wes Craven called Scream. It was 1996, and it was the first horror film he had ever worked on. It was also the first horror film he had ever seen.
His music is regularly performed in concert venues; the Oakland Symphony premiered one of his pieces in January 2002 and Marco is currently preparing for the concert premiere of a work written for two pianos. Of his most recent writing, a recent Beltrami score for the Scandinavian film I Am Dina marks something of a departure for the composer.
