Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort McArthur officially opened on October 1st, 1992 and was managed by the Foundation for Marine Animal Husbandry, a Florida 501(c)(3) organization. 2016 On September 1, 2016 MMCC assumed responsibility for the hospital and officially became a 501(c)(3) relying on public donations for its survival. 2019
