Sitting in the middle of the downtown Cultural District, Market Square is a great place to visit all year, but really comes alive during the summer months with regularly scheduled events, including live music multiple times each week.
Market Square, or "The Diamond," is part of the original plan of lots and streets laid out by George Woods and Thomas Vickroy, surveyors from Philadelphia. The first Allegheny County Courthouse is constructed in the western half of The Diamond.
