Tcheky Karyo is absolutely terrific here, at his peak, his very best ever. A so poignant film, with sequences that make you nearly weep. An action flick too, with brutal scènes so intense that you can't even imagine. A movie that Jean-Pierre Melville could have done, but in another may, I agree. Run for it. A very taut tragedy from France.
