Marty Roe. Lead Vocal / Guitar. Biographical Information: Marty was born on December 28th, 1960 in Lebanon, Ohio. He played the trumpet, guitar, and the mandolin in a stage band. Marty took all the musical classes in high school and was even a member of the jazz band. He is married to his wife Robin.
The formation that became known as the six-time Vocal Group of the Year, Diamond Rio, was formed in 1989 and consisted of Marty Roe (lead vocals), Jimmy Olander (guitar/banjo), Dana Williams (bass/vocals), Dan Truman (piano), Brian Prout (drums), and Gene Johnson (mandolin/vocals), and up until recently have had no member changes.
Marty Roe - Both Hands. Board Member. Marty Roe has been a musician for over 30 years. He and his wife Robin struggled for several years while chasing their dream. Their prayers were finally answered in 1991 as Marty and his band Diamond Rio were offered a recording contract.
