Matilda Browne (1869–1947), an American Impressionist artist noted for flower paintings & farm & cattle scenes. She was one of the few women affiliated with the art colony centered at the Florence Griswold home in Old Lyme,CT. She began art training from her artist-neighbor, Thomas Moran at the age of 9 & later studied with Carleton Wiggins.
