Matt Schulze originally set out to become a studio musician. At age 16, Schulze moved from his hometown of St. Louis, Miss., to study guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music. After returning to St. Louis and teaching guitar for several years, he moved to Los Angeles in 1992 to pursue a career as a musician.
