Watson and Francis Crick. For this work the three scientists were jointly awarded the 1962 Nobel.
Although Maurice Wilkins shared the 1962 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine with James Watson and Francis Crick, his name is not as commonly known as one of the discoverers of the structure of DNA.
Maurice Hugh Frederick Wilkins CBE FRS (15 December 1916 – 5 October 2004) [3] was a New Zealand -born British biophysicist and Nobel laureate whose research spanned multiple areas of physics and biophysics, contributing to the scientific understanding of phosphorescence, isotope separation, optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction.
