The show offers as low-grade comedy, the sheriff's deputies oggling the mermaids when they stroll by, something that would have been out of place in Justified. One other commonality is that the show is based on the writings of Elmore Leonard. He wrote the book Maximum Bob. I somehow managed to omit that from my original post.

RL-3 6 November 1998. It appears this TV series has been taken off the air as I have seen neither an episode nor a promotional spot for the series in the past several weeks. Hopefully it is because they are busy filming several more episodes and intend to bring it back in a big way.
