    1924–1928

    Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer was founded in 1924 as part of the merge between Metro-Goldwyn Pictures and Louis B. Mayer Productions. The company's first on-screen logo took elements of the original Goldwyn Pictureslogo.

    The ribboning is now gold instead of white, which is exactly the same as the next logo from the following two years. The Latin phrase inscribed on the circle was replaced by "METRO GOLDWYN MAYER/UNITED ARTISTS", a banner reading "ENTERTAINMENT CO." was added and the mask on the circle was redrawn minus the reef.

    2012–2021

    The logo was redesigned with the zooming out of Leo's eye. It was designed at Shine, debuted in Hope Springs (distributed by Columbia Pictures) and last used in Snake Eyes (distributed by Paramount Pictures).
