Mar 11, 2022 · Joining WWE in 1997, Cole started at the bottom doing voiceovers for promotional videos, then he became a backstage announcer, which lead to him becoming a fill-in play-by-play guy and then becoming a full-time announcer in 1999 upon the debut of Smackdown.
Cole became the color commentator for WWE NXT when the show debuted on February 23, 2010. Cole practically turned heel when he began showing signs of arrogance & cockiness towards face wrestlers and WWE fans alike. During his recent turn, he began to belittle certain rookies on the show, mainly Daniel Bryan.
