   What happened to the Michie Tavern?

   • Michie Tavern would also serve as a makeshift post office and school. The Tavern continued operation until the mid-1800s. Around the time of the Civil War, stagecoach travel had diminished and the building became the Michie’s private home. In 1910, the Tavern was sold out of the Michie family at an estate auction.
