In a major upset over Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders won the Michigan Democratic primary election. Donald Trump won the Michigan Republican primary with 37 percent of the vote. Ted Cruz and John Kasich took second and third place. Exit poll data shows that Trump, Cruz and Kasich competed closely for support from a variety of different voting groups.
