Mikhail Alexandrovich (Russian: Михаил Александрович) (1333 – August 26, 1399) was Grand Prince of Tver and briefly held the title of Grand Prince of Vladimir. Jul 18, 2016 · He had his head chopped off by the Tartars that, in those days, was reason enough for Sainthood, and the Church ----- despite past quarrels ----- canonized him as St. Mikhail of Tver. Of course, none of this is evident from the horse or its rider, but at least it makes a good story for tour guides to relate.
