Millstadt is located in the southwest part of St. Clair County. The Village was laid out in 1836 and was incorporated in 1875. The original residents were settlers from Germany. Much of the charm and character of the village is traceable to this heritage including many of the well-preserved 19th century brick buildings which they built.

Welcome Home. The above home is located at 18 West Laurel Street and is the winner of the 2022 Landmark Award. It is displayed on the cover of the 2023 Millstadt Historical Society (MHS) Calendar. It was built by one of the original founders of Centerville (Millstadt) in the 1800s. By 1900 the building became the Millstadt Brewery.
