The Mole Antonelliana (pronounced [ˈmɔːle antonelˈljaːna]) is a major landmark building in Turin, Italy, named after its architect, Alessandro Antonelli. A mole in Italian is a building of monumental proportions. Construction began in 1863, soon after Italian unification, and was completed in 1889, after the architect's death.

Mole Antonelliana. Turin, Italy, Europe. Turin. The symbol of Turin, this 167m tower with its distinctive aluminium spire appears on the Italian two-cent coin. It was originally intended as a synagogue when construction began in 1862, but was never used as a place of worship, and nowadays houses the Museo Nazionale del Cinema.
The Mole Antonelliana was built between 1863 and 1889, under the monarchy of Vittorio Emanuele II and Umberto I. It was the tallest stonework building for years (168 meters) and its unconventional shape makes it unique.
