  3. Jan 1, 1999 · Then we just had to get "Mountain Fever" by Tom Alexander which is a true story about his experiences in the Cataloochee area. All of these are really great reading books. I would recommend them to anyone interested in the early settlement of the mountains of western N. Carolina (Great Smokie Mtns).
