Synopsis: A young American couple, John and Nora Davis (Robert Young and Laraine Day) suffer shock and tragedy in London during the blitz of World War II and struggle to find meaning in their world.
An American newspaperman and his wife, caught in the London blitz, lose their unborn child in an air raid. Outraged, they visit a shelter for homeless children where they fall in love with orphans Margaret and her brother Peter. They eventaully adopt the children and bring them to America.

Journey for Margaret would have marked the American motion picture debut of the Swedish-born Hasso, but her first appearance was in the 1943 M-G-M film Assignment in Brittany in 1943 (see above). A Mar 1942 HR news item adds that Carolyn Lee was considered for a lead in the film.
Journey for Margaret ★★★ 1942Young and Day star as an expectant American couple living in London during WWII so Young can cover the war for a newspaper back home. After she loses her baby during an air raid, Day heads back to the States. Young stays in London where he meets two young orphans and takes them under his wing.
