Synopsis. In 1836, General LaRue, the corrupt chief of the Texas Rangers, imposes a toll on all freight shipments along the Santa Fe trail. Trader Jane Tabor refuses to pay the unfair tax and decides to detour her wagons south of the trail. In response, LaRue orders the rangers to seize all territory west of the Rio Grande.
