    • Alki Beach. Located in West Seattle, this sandy shoreline runs roughly from 64th Place SW to Duwamish Head on Elliott Bay. Alki Beach is one of the few sandy beaches in Seattle.
    • Golden Gardens. Located in Ballard, Golden Gardens Park is another sandy beach in Seattle that’s popular with the city’s northern residents. Like Alki, Golden Gardens has fire ring pits for summer use and volleyball courts—and again, some very frigid water year-round.
    • Madrona Beach. Lake Washington is popular among Seattleites for swimming since it’s warmer than Puget Sound (which is the body of water you’ll be dealing with at Alki Beach and Golden Gardens).
    • Madison Park Beach. This small lakefront beach is adjacent to the beautiful Washington Park Arboretum. There are lifeguards on duty at Madison Beach during the summer from noon to 7:00 p.m.

Jul 6, 2008 · Mount Baker Beach is a small, well-groomed lifeguarded beach with a dock, diving board, large restrooms with showers, and well-groomed grass to lie on (with a stretch of sandy area right by the shore). This is definitely a family beach. I'd say about 90 percent of the people here are with children.

By connecting the subdivision to several boulevards in Seattle, wide, winding swaths of green space were set aside for the community. John Charles saw the potential in Seattle to thoughtfully integrate a subdivision with open green space.
