Museum Barberini building at Alter Markt. Built between 1771 and 1772, the Palais Barberini was heavily damaged during an air raid in April 1945 and as a consequence demolished in 1948. The free space at Alter Markt was afterwards used as a little park, a parking area and from 1994 to 2006 as the performance venue of the local Hans Otto Theater.
