Effectively his "death " symbolised how the old nate's way of life was dead and a new one was beginning. The prime focus of season 3 was pretty much nate adapting to his new life and grieving the end of his old more free and unrestrained lifestyle. Im rewatching season 3 and its such a chore,really boring and lacklustre.
