ALTOONA, Pa. — Nicholas Rowland, professor of sociology at Penn State Altoona, has been conferred the status of distinguished professor, the highest professorial merit at the University. “Naturally, it is an honor to be named among Penn State’s distinguished professors,” Rowland said.
Nicholas Rowland was elected to the Board of Trustees effective July 1, 2021, as an academic trustee. He was nominated for the role by the University Faculty Senate, for which he served as chair during the 2019-2020 academic year. Rowland is a professor of sociology at Penn State Altoona.
