Nikolaus Johann van Beethoven (2 October 1776 – 12 January 1848) [2] was a brother of the composer Ludwig van Beethoven . Life [ edit] He was born in Bonn, youngest son of Johann van Beethoven and his wife Maria Magdalena Keverich. [3] He trained to be a pharmacist; he moved in 1795 to Vienna, where his brothers Ludwig and Kaspar lived.
Nikolaus Johann van Beethoven (1776-1848) Beethoven's brother Nikolaus followed his brother Ludwig to Vienna in December 1795, expressing the wish to be known from then onwards as Johann, in memory of the brothers' late father. Johann had trained in Bonn as a pharmacist and took a position as pharmacist's assistant in Vienna.
