    HAL Laboratory, Inc. (JPJapanese: 株式会社ハル研究所

Romaji: Kabushiki Gaisha Haru Kenkyūjo)(CNCorporate Number: 8010001026663) (also referred to as HAL or HALKEN) is a Japanese video game development company that has been affiliated with Nintendo since 1983, when the Famicom (NES) was first released. HAL was responsible for the creation of Kirby, the Kirby series and the Super Smash Bros series.

Satoru Iwata, an employee at HAL, helped HAL form a relationship with Nintendo. After financial strain brought on from the development of Metal Slader Glory, Nintendo offered to rescue HAL from bankruptcy on the condition that Iwata was appointed as its president. Iwata was president of HAL from 1993 and 2000, and he would later go on to become Nintendo's fourth president.

In July 2020, HAL Laboratory moved offices to move into Kanda Square. This is the same building as Nintendo's Tokyo teams and Game Freak.
