In Oscar acceptance speeches given since 1966, Spielberg holds the record for being thanked the most at 43 mentions, more than God and beating Harvey Weinstein who was thanked 34 times.
As a boy scout, Steve had to tell a story through still pictures. He requested that he be able to tell his story through a moving picture instead, and the scoutmaster granted his request. He used his father’s 8mm video camera to shoot a three-minute Western movie, which he showed at a boy scout meeting.
