The nucleus accumbens is approximate to the striatum's caudate and putamen. It continues dorsolaterally into the putamen and dorsomedially into the caudate nucleus. However, there isn't an apparent boundary between these regions. The location of the nucleus accumbens in the ventral striatum and basal ganglia isn't anatomically apparent.
