Although the Oakland Athletics franchise logo looks like a seal, the presence of a white elephant, which adorned the emblem at the very beginning, is still discernible. Designers retained it in the letter “A” by stretching the right side and curving it in the shape of a trunk.
Of note about the logo is that it features the white cleats on the left-hand side of the logo, which was the idea of then-team owner Charley O. Finley, which had been introduced in 1967 in the team's last season in Kansas City.

Feb 1, 2020 · In any case, when the Kansas City Athletics became the Oakland Athletics, the elephant logo was at last switched out for a green "A" over a white baseball with gold stitching. Said logo saw a revision in 1971, but by 1983, it had been simplified to a gold "A" within a white circle with a green border.
