Wikipedia + Libraries: Better Together is an OCLC project to build bridges between Wikipedia and US public libraries. In fall 2017, OCLC will run an online training program for up to 500 US public library staff to learn to meaningfully engage with Wikipedia in a nine-week WebJunction course.
The Wikipedia + Libraries: Better Together project introduced 300 library staff members from 45 states and 7 countries to the inner workings of Wikipedia. May 11, 2017 · In 2016, OCLC was a winner of the Knight News Challenge for a project to promote collaboration between public libraries and Wikipedia. And in March 2017, OCLC hired a Wikipedian-in-Residence, a position funded by a project grant from the Wikimedia Foundation, to facilitate the Wikipedia + Libraries: Better Together project.
