Ogndal er en tidligere kommune i Nord-Trøndelag, etablert i 1885 – da under navnet Skei. Ogndal er siden 1964 en del av Steinkjer kommune. Ogndal ble utskilt fra Sparbu kommune 1. januar 1885. Innbyggertallet var da 1 441. Ved resolusjon 13. desember 1900 ble navnet endret fra Skei til Ogndal.
