This is a list of area codes in the state of Ohio . History. The first nationwide telephone numbering plan of 1947 divided Ohio into four numbering plan areas (NPAs), one each for a quadrant of the state: 216, 419, 513, and 614. In 1996, 330 and 937 were added by splitting existing NPAs.
