Mar 25, 2023 · The Washington State Capitol Building is one of Olympia, Washington’s most iconic landmarks. Built in the Neoclassical architectural style, the building is an impressive sight, featuring a dome that is the fifth-tallest in the world, standing at 287 feet tall.
The Old Capitol Building, which has been home for the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction since 1906, is located on a full block fronting on Sylvester Park in downtown Olympia. The park contains a statue of Gov. John Rogers, author of the "Barefoot Schoolboy Law."
