UNESCO protected Kaunas Old Town is the main attraction in Kaunas and I love it here. Walk down Laisves Avenue (Freedom Avenue) away from the big domed church and it’s on your left. A chocolate-box old town with the orange, lemon and lime shaded buildings making up its soft-centre (ahhhh).

Have just returned from a 4 day visit to Kaunas. The old town is lovely for walking round, with may churches, museums and old buildings. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, it is a lovely place.
I did a short day trip from Vilnius to Kaunas, using the local trains. The first attraction I visited is the Old Town of Kaunas. It is easier to navigate for a first time visitor where most attractions are located along the beautiful lane with trees and some benches at the middle of the lane.
