Had to return and order another at Best Buy and have it shipped to the store, instead of my home. Second Onkyo CD player has worked fine so far (about one month). Sound is good and ease of use is also quite good. Bought this on sale for $250.00. No other 6-disc player available at Best Buy.
Feb 16, 2021 · Dec 14, 2022. #7. There are many cases of the laser assembly on this Onkyo C-7030 CD player failing. Mine never worked well but I left it too long to return it. Simple footfalls would cause it to skip. Cleaning the laser as suggested in forums sort of helped but it is completely unusable.

Comparing the Denon DMC-460, Yamaha CDC-775, and the Onkyo CD-X530, the choice was clear. The Onkyo has by far the best craftsmanship. It's a very solid machine with well thought out design features. ie - the display is above the tray, next selection feature, 6 disk capacity, etc. The Yamaha had a very shoddy feel.
