Nuclear waste
The Lanyu nuclear waste storage facility was built at the southern tip of Orchid Island in 1982. Power generation
The island houses its only power generation facility, the fuel-fired Lanyu Power Plant. Commissioned in 1982, the plant has a total installed capacity of 6.5 MW and is owned and operated by Taipower.
