The Original Rice Krispies Treats Squares
    Food.com
This is the recipe for the original rice krispies treats squares...It never fails! Plus, it is a great way to use up a box of cereal! For best results, use fresh marshmallows. I have replaced the butter once with Mott's Healthy Baking butter or oil substitute (it was basically an unsweetened apple sauce) and they still turned out great!

    Rice Krispies Muffins
    Food.com
This is so easy to make and yet delicious. Even tough I do not like rice crispies at all I enjoy these muffins. I was acctually looking for a recipe like this here but could not find it so i posted my recipe here. In Iceland you will hardly find a potluck where these are not one of the treats. But don't be late as they are usually gone soon. Your kids will love these! Note: You may use cornflakes or Cheerios or a mixture of these instead of rice krispies but they are in the original recipe. Chilling time is not included in preparation time. Note 2#: I am not sure if i would call it "authentic" but it is very popular in Iceland and you will most likely find it at potlucks, birthday parties or other bigger come togethers. For an authentic icelandic dessert serve http://www.recipezaar.com/Lummur-301253 with strawberries and whipped cream. But that is more like a afternoon cake than a dessert. So go for the muffins if you like :-) tship: Please DO tell me more about your daughter's project, how exciting!

This recipe was handed down from my great-grandmother. I'm not sure when traditional marshmallow krispie treats came on the scene, but this recipe could have preceded it! These are what I grew up on. I do not like marshmallows, so I find this recipe to be perfect. You can also top with melted chocolate if you like. Original recipe calls for 1 cup sugar, but I found it to be too sweet, so I cut it in half. You may wish to add more.

Awesome Igloo Shaped Rice Krispies Treats for Kids
    Food.com
Photos now posted! I created this fun treat for a children's Christmas party for first graders. It was a huge hit with kids and parents alike. In the end, the teacher asked to keep the rest for the teacher's lounge. This looks complicated, but it is so easy! This recipe results in a wintry scene with "snow," an igloo, icy water and even a polar bear mother and cub! This dessert works for all kinds of winter get-togethers. Note: prep time was approximated because this was my original creation. You might go much faster. I followed recipe #96111 for the crisped rice ingredients and cooking.
    Cornflake Macaroons with Chocolate Drizzle
    Food and Wine
My go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe is full of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies and I was over the moon to discover how frequently cookies with cereal surfaced in my booklet collection. A recipe from 55 Recipes for Hershey’s Syrup (1945) formed the base for this version of a macaroon. Adding salt to the batter proved essential (so many of these original recipes don’t call for salt), and I drizzled the cookies with chocolate after baking, rather than combining it with the batter, allowing these cookies to truly shine.Reprinted with permission from The Vintage Baker.
