Feb 26, 2022 · In the City Hall of Oslo is an almost 30 meter long fresco, named Okkupasjonsfrisen (The Occupation Frieze). It shows scenes from the years of the occupation. Some of it is even based on personal experiences of the artist Alf Rolfsen. It was commissioned for the opening of the new Rådhus (City Hall) in Oslo in 1950.
Bigger on the inside! Jul 2019. This is by far one of the best (free!) attractions in Oslo. Though it is an actual City Hall - and famous location of the Nobel Peace Prize Award ceremony - it is an enormous large-space museum to Norwegian art and culture.

The building has been decorated by great Norwegian art from 1900-1950, with motifs from Norwegian history, culture and working life. Carillon concerts on the first Saturday every month at 11am, in June, July and August every Sunday at 3pm. On certain days, the City Hall is closed to visitors.
